The next phase of SERL participant recruitment will begin in August 2020. The project aims to recruit a representative panel of 10,000 GB households with DCC-enrolled electricity and/or gas meters by the end of 2020. If you have received an invitation letter and wish to participate, please visit the SERL participant portal and follow the instructions in the letter. Participation in SERL is currently by invitation only.

A successful pilot phase was conducted in August-September 2019 which recruited 1700 participants that enabled initial research and exploratory analyses which were critical to informing the development of the wider SERL research programme.

Simon Elam (SERL Director) said: “This is a very busy and exciting time as we approach completion of some major milestones of the SERL project. In the next few months several SERL research programme projects will move from planning and pre-analysis stages to start research in earnest; and this next wave of participant recruitment will significantly enhance the power of the research undertaken.”

The ultimate goal of SERL is to enable research that will make the UK’s energy more efficient, sustainable and affordable.
